Exreme Couponing

Yesterday was a relaxing Sunday and was much needed!  Casey and I went on a day long float on Saturday, so we were out of commission when Sunday rolled around.  This meant a lot of time surfing the TV for something good to watch and this is what I came upon...Extreme Couponing on TLC.  HOLY COW!

If you have never seen this show, go to this link and watch a preview:

These people have mini markets in their houses - stocked up on tons of supplies that will last them months, even years!  They save some BIG bucks though which is amazing.  They will rack up a bill of $1,200 at the grocery store then after using all their coupons, their total comes down to $50....A-MAZ-ING!

The really cool thing is not only saving tons of money, but with all the extra products they get through their savings, they donate to local charities that are in need of these items...not only are they helping out themselves but others in need which is pretty cool.

The people on this show seems to get their coupons from Sunday Paper ads, recycling centers, online, family/friends, etc.  They stock up on several of the same coupons and have an organized system of keeping them all together - many use binders.

Then they make a spreadsheet that states how many of each item they can afford to buy and how much savings they will get with the coupons.  For instance, a lady bought 100+ sports drinks to last her kids through the summer season.  These people STOCK up!

It was pretty inspirational...I feel like I should definitely be on the look our for coupons if it can save me thousands of dollars each year.

Do you know anyone that is an extreme couponer?  I think I am going to start clipping coupons after watching a marathon of this show!
